A Focus on Science, Invention, and Innovation

Aixxia, a not-for-profit consortium of cross-disciplinary experts, is dedicated to exploring different means of amplifying the power of science, in the pursuit of invention and innovation.

We believe in the power of science to change the world. And we know that humans have used invention and innovation over time to produce enormous value and advance humankind. The Victorian Ornamental woodworking lathe under our roof reminds us of both the mechanics and the artistry of invention. Today we increasingly use technology, but the impulse is the same – to shape our world.

Currently, we’re focusing on accelerating basic research with a seed grant from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), which resulted in our first platform-based product, Polyplexus.

Polyplexus

An R&D Propulsion Lab

Polyplexus, an R&D propulsion lab, is a global platform designed to disrupt the current R&D process and accelerate the the time between worthy idea and proposal development. Developed for scientific researchers and research sponsors, the platform provides a database of easily accessible cited evidence and facilitates faster cross-disciplinary collaboration. Open to the public since February 2019, Polyplexus is currently in Alpha. We continue to evolve the platform experience based on the feedback from our users.

The Opportunity: Acceleration
Today’s global digital platform technologies and network effects dramatically increase the pace of idea exchange and the emergence of threats and opportunities. Polyplexus harnesses these forces to unleash a faster, cross-disciplinary R&D process. The platform accelerates information access and idea development, provides sponsor engagement, and increases the breadth of the participant base. Polyplexus offers an engaging exploration of future research directions and propels both competitive advantage as well as future opportunities.

The Result: Disruption and Focus
Training experts to think disruptively, the platform enables its users to review the latest research across disciplines quickly and efficiently. They join pieces of evidence to shape better questions, then can rapidly build research teams to focus on the answers to those questions, create proposals, and connect with research sponsors directly and efficiently.

The Proof of Concept: Early Success
In Alpha, Polyplexus has already produced concrete, positive results. Several proposals arising from the platform have received or are currently under consideration for funding by DARPA. Follow our progress @polyplexors.
